Overnight Apple confirmed all the rumours by announcing it’s next major release of Mac OS X 10.6, also known as Snow Leopard, would be released on August 28. I was too lazy to get out of bed, so I just bought it via my iphone, in hindsight it may have been a crap load quicker to do this on my Mac, but I honestly couldn’t be f’d.
This will be the first time I have done a major upgrade of Mac OS X, I hear that several options previously offered are now automatically chosen. Hopefully all will go smoothly.
I’ve also decided that I am going to have a look at CodeIgniter as a PHP development platform. I haven’t used a coding framework before, and in a way I am wondering whether it’s really relevant for me given work is moving to MySource Matrix at the moment (me in 2010). If anything it will just represent a challenge that may offer some benefits, I am also interested in learning MVC which is new to me too. Sat on my arse for too long I think. So I began the first step yesterday, downloaded Ubuntu Server 9.0.4 which I will create a virtual machine for tonight, then I’ll install CodeIgniter and have a play with it all over the weekend.
Well, off to work now.

I’m working on creating a series of tutorials to show how an entire site goes together using Code Igniter.

The tutorials are targetted towards programmers who want to get into PHP MVC development so any feedback would be appreciated.
