Longing for a break

I did my usual thing today, bought another toy. I am buying a friend’s car next week, unfortunately the cd playing functionality no longer works (rest is fine) due to John’s son having put a sticky label into the cd drive, he’s only 5 My solution is to use the new toy, an 8GB iPod Touch, along with an FM transmitter which beats the heck out of having to burn MP3 cd’s that I have been doing with my some day soon ex-car.

I’ve come to the recollection that I didn’t want the iPhone 3G, it just lacks too many functions that I take for granted such as MMS, voice-assisted GPS navigation, some video functionality and the list goes on. I felt that given all these shortcomings that this generation iPhone 3G isn’t for me. So, I got the next best thing, the same device that comes minus the phone functionality, iPod Touch. I’ve been playing with it since I got home today and I love it! Seriously Apple, well done! I love that i can just sit on the couch and surf the web, buy music, download apps, control my laptop’s iTunes playback (I can’t wait to have someone shit themselves when I play music from it without being anywhere near the thing haha).

I am a little pissed that Apple has made me pay for v2 of its software, especially as I only bought the bloody thing today, not eons ago. I still think they should have provided that free, they get enough from the rest of their iTunes and iPod sales, don’t they?
